I was born and raised in India where I worked as a Graphic Designer before following the calling towards fine arts and studied realist drawing and painting at the Gage Academy of Art in Seattle.
I work primarily in oil paints, charcoal and mixed media 2D art. My work is rooted in realism and storytelling. I draw inspiration from the moments and places of everyday life, through a subject matter ranging from still lifes, interiors to portraits and family life. The themes explored in my work are spiritual and symbolic as well as representation of the simpler moments in life.
I have shown my work in various group shows across Seattle and nearby cities, including venues like the Seattle Asian Art Museum, Bellevue Art Museum and The Burke Museum.
I began my educator’s journey at the Pratt Fine Arts Center and since then have expanded to teaching with Path with Art and Amazon Expressions. In my experience as a teaching artist, I have come across people from a myriad of careers and cultures and experienced the healing power of art on the community through learning, sharing and dialogue.
